Clinical Servicese-Medicine will provide clinical services to rural and remote communities as a support for the diagnostic technologies developed through the Centre’s research and development programs.
The clinical services will comprise diagnoses, interpretation and advice for professional and paramedics.
Health services research will be undertaken within this program to ensure new approaches to patient diagnosis, treatment and service are effective. The Centre will export clinical services to Asia and Pacific countries and the rest of the world.
One of e-Medicine’s core partners, the Lions Eye Institute, already provides tele-ophthalmology services to rural and remote Australia and Indonesia.
e-Medicine will offer a far wider range of clinical services than those available through LEI as the specialties on ear health, dentistry, colorectal cancer, musculoskeletal problems and human physiology all targeted through research and clinical services.
