Over 400,000 Australians are currently blind or seriously visually impaired.  Population ageing will see this number double by 2020, posing considerable economic and social complications for those affected, their families and the wider community.

LEI is committed to protecting and preserving the vision of all in the community.  Through its community service programs LEI strives to ensure more Australians enjoy healthy, independent lives.
