Schools & Community Education Program

Over 80% of blindness is preventable if treated early enough, yet over 400,000 Australians are blind or seriously visually impaired.  LEI’s School & Community Education Program seeks to educate Western Australians, from school children to seniors, on the importance of eye health.

LEI conducts community eye health care briefings upon request to community groups, corporate organisations and other groups with a proactive approach to eye health. The presentation covers the Institute’s core activities and also offers information on the six most common blinding eye diseases in Australia, their symptoms and at-risk groups.

For further information contact the Development Office on (08) 9381 0708.

Information on common blinding eye conditions can be found by downloading LEI’s Eye Health Fact Sheets.
