Personal Executive Assistant to Managing Director
Lions Eye Institute (LEI) is the largest eye research institute in the southern hemisphere and is part of the University of Western Australia Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences. It has an international reputation and leads Australia in investigating the prevention and cure of blinding eye disease.
LEI is seeking an experienced Personal Executive Assistant to the Managing Director. This role will offer stimulation and challenge to a highly motivated and efficient individual looking to contribute to the success of the Institute.
This role is to deliver full secretarial and administrative support to the Managing Director and Chairman with secondary support for the Executive team.

This role is to deliver full secretarial and administrative support to the Managing Director and Chairman with secondary support for the Executive team.
Duties include:
- Providing a high level of confidential, personal and efficient executive administration support to the managing Director
- Maintain and develop professional secretarial and administrative standards to ensure the efficient running of the Managing Director's office
- Diary management, arrange appointments and travel arrangements
- Attend and take minutes at monthly Board meeting and Executive meeting
- Assist in the preparation of research grant applications and monitoring progress
To be successful in the role you need:
- Proven successful track record in a busy executive assistant role with a minimum of 5 years experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Methodical approach to work with very high attention to details
Well developed IT skills, particularly with the MS Office suites of products - Demonstrate ability to maintain confidentiality and sensitivity while maintaining effective working relationships with staff and Clinicians at all levels
- Experience in health care/research desirable but not necessary
