BIO PHOTONICS STAFF

Dr Brett Patterson (BSc Hons, PhD)
Dr Patterson attained his BSc with First Class Honours in Physics from the University of Western Australia and PhD in Physics (Radio Astronomy) from the University of Cambridge. He has held post-Doctoral research appointments in the UK at the University of St Andrews, University of Durham, and the Royal Observatory, Edinburgh, as well as DSTO, CSIRO and UWA in Australia.

He has experience in astronomical optics and instrumentation, optical design, adaptive optics, data analysis and image processing. Dr Patterson is particularly interested in high-resolution retinal imaging, and technology translation from academic research to commercial industry.

Dr Fred Reinholz (PhD)
Dr Reinholz studied at the University of Rostock, Germany, where he obtained a First Class Diploma before obtaining a PhD in Theoretical Physics (Statistical Physics) from University of Rostock.

Dr Reinholz's post-Doctoral research appointments include the University of Rostock, University of Oxford and the University of Auckland. He is experienced in confocal microscopy, laser ablation, scanning laser ophthalmoscopes, adaptive optics for high-resolution retinal imaging, spectral imaging and 3D stereoscopic imaging.
