In October 2021 Busselton’s Bay Garden Group held a fundraiser in support of the Lions Eye Institute.
Group member and Lions Eye Institute patient, Christine, kindly opened her garden to all visitors, local and travelling. The ‘Open Garden Day’ fundraiser featured her amazing garden, freshly potted plants for purchase, a variety of stalls, and a delicious morning tea and lunch.
The Lions Club also made an appearance with their famous sausage sizzle.
This is not the first time the Bay Garden group has raised funds in support of a health-related charity. In the past, they have also raised for a local hospice, breast cancer, melanoma research, and muscular dystrophy.
Christine and the Bay Garden Group raised over $5,500 during this wonderful event. We are very appreciative of the hard work and efforts that made this day such a success, and to everyone who donated on the day.
Community supporters like Busselton’s Bay Garden Group, make it possible to continue our research into preventing eye disease and blindness.
