“Dr Gajdatsy's research interests lie in orphan tumour research, being involved in setting up the Ophthalmic Tumour Registry of WA. Future research into the genomics and other characteristics of these rare ocular and orbital tumours is planned. Past research has been into lacrimal drainage disease following chemotherapy for breast cancer, and in novel eyelid reconstructive methods.”

Biography

Dr Adam Gajdatsy MB ChB trained in ophthalmology in Western Australia before undertaking advanced fellowship training at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff and at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London in oculoplastic, lacrimal and orbital surgery.

Dr Gajdatsy is currently operating as a consultant ophthalmic surgeon at LEI Nedlands, SJOG Subiaco, and Murdoch surgicentre for private surgery.

He provides public (uninsured) patient services at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, and Osborne Park Hospital.

He sits on the Executive Committee of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Ophthalmic Plastic Surgeons (ANZSOPS), as immediate past president of the society (2015-2017).
