Be a Lions Eye Institute Volunteer and join the quest to prevent and cure blindness and treat eye disease.
As a Lions Eye Institute Volunteer, you will join an essential support team providing information and assistance to the thousands of people who come to us for help with their eyesight.
Our volunteers are drawn from all parts of the community and from all age groups. They have a wide range of skills, abilities and interests. But most of all, they have a commitment to their community and to making a difference in the world.
Our volunteer positions cover a wide range of activities – in research, clinic, administration and fundraising.
And while the Lions Eye Institute derives huge benefit from your volunteering, you will too.
Our Concierge Program
Our Concierge Program is one of our most valued volunteer services and is aimed at making a visit to the Lions Eye Institute clinic in Nedlands a seamless experience.
Easily recognisable in their vibrant red vests, our Volunteer Concierges assist patients in a variety of ways – from escorting them to their appointment, arranging and safely conveying them from treatment areas to their transport or making them a cup of tea while they wait in the clinic. It is a service patients and visitors greatly appreciate.
Volunteering:
- gives you the personal satisfaction of doing meaningful work with a world-class medical research institute and ophthalmic clinic

- teaches you new skills

The time you choose to commit to being a Lions Eye Institute volunteer is completely flexible – you work within your own lifestyle and commitments.
However you choose to help, be assured, your contribution will be greatly appreciated.
