Visual Function in “Visual Snow Syndrome”

Visual Function in “Visual Snow Syndrome”

Recently recognised as a neurological disorder, Visual Snow Syndrome has a hallmark characteristic of the percept of “visual snow” throughout the visual field. Working closely with collaborators from the University of Melbourne and Monash University, we are exploring the visual experience of those with visual snow, with the aim of improving understanding of the neural pathways involved. Our research in this domain involves detailed testing of vision using non-standard assessments, in order to uncover the likely visual processing pathways affected. We are also working on education materials for eyecare providers to improve evidence based eyecare provision to people experiencing visual snow.
