Lions Eye Institute at the Telethon Channel 7 Family Festival
The Lions Eye Institute participated in Western Australia’s annual flagship community event, held at the RAC Arena as part of Channel 7’s Telethon Weekend—one of Australia’s largest and most iconic charity fundraisers.
Visitors to the Lions Eye Institute booth had the opportunity to engage with researchers and staff, learn about eye health and vision protection and take part in interactive, eye-themed activities designed to inspire curiosity about science and medicine. The booth attracted a strong turnout, with many families and young visitors eager to explore how the eye works and discover more about the importance of maintaining good vision.
The Lions Eye Institute extends its thanks to the volunteers, researchers and staff who contributed their time and expertise to make the event a success. Their enthusiasm and commitment helped raise awareness of the Institute’s work and its impact on the community.
The Institute also acknowledges Telethon Channel 7 for its long-standing support of eye research. Through Telethon’s continued contributions, Lions Eye Institute researchers are able to advance studies into childhood eye diseases and develop new approaches to prevent vision loss across Western Australia and beyond.
