Dr Kate Brooks is an experienced non-executive Director and senior leader whose career bridges University, government and industry.
Based in Perth, she is the CEO of WA Return Recycle Renew (WARRRL), the entity that delivers the WA Containers for Change scheme.
Her career spans senior roles in operations, innovation and commercialisation, including Head of School at Curtin University, Deputy Head of Operations at CSIRO Astronomy and Space Science, State Director of the WA Life Sciences Innovation Hub, Innovation Manager at Wesfarmers Chemicals, Energy & Fertilisers, and Business Growth Facilitator with the Australian Government’s Entrepreneurs’ Programme, where she advised growth-stage companies on strategy and transformation.
She holds a Graduate Certificate in Innovation and Commercialisation and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She was awarded the CSIRO Chairman’s Medal for her contribution to Australia’s involvement in the Square Kilometre Array and served as President of the Astronomical Society of Australia.
Kate brings strong governance capability, integrity, curiosity and commercial acumen. She is a specialist in operations, governance, research commercialisation, and change leadership and has a deep commitment to creating lasting societal impact. She is a recognised public speaker on digital transformation, decarbonisation and the triple helix ecosystem.
