Marie Claire Bennetts

Marie Claire joined the Institute in 2020 and leads the communications and philanthropy portfolio. She brings over 25 years of experience across the not-for-profit, education, research, and finance sectors.

Prior to joining the Institute, Marie Claire was part of the external relations team at the UWA Business School, where she played a key role in the School’s $25 million capital fundraising campaign. She subsequently managed major corporate partnerships and significant donor programs, including BHP Billiton’s landmark $10 million partnership.

Before that, at Xponential Philanthropy, Marie Claire led capital campaigns for both the education and mining sectors. Her work included managing the Fundraising Institute of Australia’s national award-winning campaign for the Shire of Kambalda’s Community and Recreation Centre. Earlier in her career, she worked in Sydney’s finance sector at Bankers Trust.

Marie Claire holds an MBA from the University of Western Australia and a Bachelor of Commerce from Curtin University. She has previously served on the Perth Fashion Festival Advisory Board, the Graduate Management Association of UWA Board, and as Executive Officer of the UWA Business School’s Ambassadorial Council.
