Global health challenges: How and why innovative MedTech solutions will make a difference
Join us for the Lions Eye Institute’s 25th annual Ian Constable Lecture as Professor Ian Meredith AM explores the topic of how global health challenges such as a growing and ageing population provide both challenges and opportunities for MedTech (medical technology) innovation.
We face several critical global heath challenges in this century unlike any that have beleaguered the human civilisation over the past 20,000 years.
It is, therefore, timely to revisit John F Kennedy’s question of whether adding life to one’s years rather than years to one’s life should be our mission?
Thankfully, in a time of unprecedented technological and computational advances, unparalleled opportunities for MedTech, digital health and biotech innovation abound – including opportunities that we, in Australia, could consistently lead the global effort.
