Professor David Mackey AO is re-elected as Vice-President of the APAO Council

The Lions Eye Institute was proud to be represented at the 40th Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) Congress, held from 3–6 April 2025 in New Delhi, India.

This prestigious international event brought together leading ophthalmologists, researchers and eye health professionals from across the Asia-Pacific region to share the latest innovations and research in eye care and vision science.

A key highlight was the re-election of Professor David Mackey AO as Vice-President of the APAO Council for the 2025–2027 term. Professor Mackey also continues his role as Regional Secretary for Australia and New Zealand, underscoring his leadership and long-standing contribution to advancing ophthalmology both regionally and globally.

The Lions Eye Institute congratulates Professor Mackey on this well-deserved recognition and is proud to support his ongoing work in improving eye health outcomes around the world.
