Dr Margaret Crowley AM
The Lions Eye Institute is pleased to announce that board member, Dr Margaret Crowley, was recognised in the recent 2023 King’s Birthday Honours List. Dr Crowley was awarded the Member (AM) of the Order of Australia in the General Division for significant service to community health, and to people with low vision.
Dr Crowley’s contribution to the Western Australian community spans four decades. She has served on the board of the South Metropolitan Health Service, North Metropolitan Health Service, and Nursing and Midwifery Australia. In addition, Dr Crowley was Chief Executive Officer of Association for the Blind of WA Inc (now VisAbility) for 15 years and former Director, Vision 2020 Australia.
Dr Crowley has been a board member of the Lions Eye Institute since 2016 and deputy chair since 2018. In addition, she is also a member of the Institute’s Research and Intellectual Property Committee and Scientific Advisory Panel.
This latest recognition of her service to community health is very well deserved. Congratulations Dr Margaret Crowley AM.
