Dr Evan Wong MBBS, FRANZCO

Dr Evan Wong was born in Scotland, grew up in Singapore and has spent all his adult life in Perth. He went to medical school at The University of Western Australia and subsequently completed specialist ophthalmology training with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists. Dr Wong undertook a fellowship in cornea, cataract and refractive surgery at the Singapore National Eye Centre. During his time there, he was also a clinical research fellow in the tissue engineering and stem cell group at the Singapore Eye Research Institute.

Dr Wong specialises in the management of corneal and anterior segment disease, including cataract, pterygium, keratoconus, corneal infections and corneal dystrophies. He also specialises in refractive surgery, offering LASIK, refractive lenticule extraction (also known as SmartSight), ICL and PRK procedures. Dr Wong is actively involved in clinical research and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and scientific reviews. He has also recently written a book chapter on small incision lenticule extraction in high myopia. Outside of work, he loves spending time with his wife and two daughters, and enjoys swimming and running.
