Establishing a Consumer and Community Involvement Panel

Establishing a Consumer and Community Involvement Panel

The Functional Molecular Vision research team has a strong interest in developing an ongoing consumer and community involvement program so that members of society with lived experience of myopia or early-onset myopia (children, parents/carers, teachers, allied health professionals) can be involved in the development and execution of research activities.

Criteria for involvement:

  • Do you have a child aged between six and 11 years of age that has myopia?
  • Are you an educator concerned about the growing prevalence of myopia and the effect it has on learning?
  • Are you an optometrist seeing a growing number of young children presenting with refractive error?

We would love to hear from you!

If you feel you would like to learn more about becoming involved with this panel, please email: communications@lei.org.au for more information.

By taking part in this panel, you will be invited to attend in-person discussions providing input on research questions from the consumer’s perspective. This leads to improved relevance and responsiveness of our research and interventions and ultimately  results in improved translation of research into practice.
