Deficits in peripheral vision are a hallmark of serious visual pathway disorders, such as childhood glaucoma, brain injuries, and brain tumours. Yet, accurately measuring these deficits remains a formidable challenge. Current assessment methods are tailored for adults and often fail to capture the attention of children, leading to unreliable or even non-existent results.
This project is revolutionising the way we evaluate and monitor vision in children, developing ground-breaking methods that promise both precision and engagement. Accurate vision assessments are not just a necessity—they are critical to making life-altering treatment and rehabilitation decisions.
The project was supported by a 2024 Telethon Trust grant.
